Seeing Is Knowing is The Ona Hub's programme of workshops and short courses exploring the making, reading and critical understanding of images. Designed for emerging artists, filmmakers, photographers, researchers and other practitioners working with visual media, the programme moves beyond the idea that images simply represent reality. Through discussions, readings, visual analysis and practical exercises, participants are encouraged to question how images produce meaning, shape memory, communicate ideas and influence the ways we understand ourselves and the world around us.

The programme is built around the belief that learning to see critically is fundamental to developing a meaningful visual practice. Seeing Is Knowing creates a shared space for looking, thinking, discussing and making, connecting critical inquiry with creative practice.

For us, the programme is part of a broader commitment to developing practitioners who do not simply produce images, but understand the power and possibilities of images.
